Position Overview
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a Senior Accountant-Workday Financials to join their team in Georgia. This position is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to provide temporary support for key financial operations and reporting activities. The role requires maintaining the accuracy of general ledger records, supporting financial close processes, performing account analysis, and assisting with audit and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with Workday Financials, a solid understanding of core accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day general ledger activities, including preparing and posting journal entries within the organization's financial system.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure financial records are complete and accurate.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while meeting established reporting deadlines.
- Analyze financial transactions and resolve accounting-related discrepancies through detailed research and problem solving.
- Support accounting activities related to cash, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare audit schedules, account support, and other documentation required for internal and external reporting needs.
- Collaborate with accounting team members to improve workflows, strengthen controls, and enhance process efficiency.
- Contribute to ongoing system optimization efforts by identifying and addressing accounting process gaps and data integrity issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
- Advanced proficiency in Workday Financials with the ability to independently navigate, research, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting-related issues.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and support financial decision-making.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet critical deadlines with limited oversight.
